Plop Plop, Fizz Fizz, Oh What A Relief It Is!

Once upon a time (in a galaxy far away) there was a TV commercial character that sang “plop plop, fizz fizz, oh what a relief it is”. It was an ad for Alka-Seltzer.

Anyone else remember that commercial? If you’re not familiar with it, or if you’d like to stroll down memory lane, you can see it here.

I bring that up because recently I had an experience of considerable “plop plop, fizz fizz” relief I’d like to share with you.

All of my life I’ve experienced familial and societal pressures around my weight, regardless of what size of clothing I wore, what type of exercise I was doing, what diet I was following or what latest weight reduction hustle from the current guru I was trying to live by.

Those experiences can all be summed up as #epicfails.

And Then Awhile Back

I was attending an online webinar about building your business and thought I had clicked on the breakout session for building your business with social media.

Come to find out I had actually clicked on the breakout session for Reclaiming Your Health with Jenny Mahan and being too embarrassed to leave the session, I stayed.

Long story short, I was so intrigued by what Jenny was saying and the way she said it, that I attended some of her online classes and then decided to work 1:1 with her.

We worked together for about 6 months and then life got in the way, as it can tend to do.

I kept telling myself I had plenty of skills, I just needed to remember to use them. Of course I could do this by myself! It’s just managing nutrition, for pity’s sake!

As time went by I noticed my newly minted habits and tools falling by the wayside: those quick coffee shop stops were covertly sneaking in again, as was the lack of planning and preparing meals.

The wake up call was when I realized I was falling into those old dastardly habits because they were familiar and comfortable territory. After all, I had a lifetime of ‘successfully’ living with them.

I immediately set up a session with Jenny.

I can not begin to describe the relief I felt as we dove into that session. Relief that I didn’t have to carry the burden by myself; relief that a professional was listening to me and hearing my concerns, and relief that Jenny had the skill, knowledge and mastery to take me from where I was with my nutrition skills to where I wanted to be.

Why Do I Mention This To You?

Because I’ve noticed the same thing happening with other folx. You strive to build relationship with your animal pal on your own, but life gets in the way.

‘Life getting in the way’ takes many forms. Can you relate to any of these?

  • You’re wrapped up in all the details that are involved in moving

  • You’re adjusting your life to living with an aging animal

  • You’re adjusting to having a new animal in your family

  • You’re adjusting to having a new baby in your family

  • You’re adjusting to a child leaving home for the first time

  • You’re worn from looking for a job

  • You’re learning the ropes of a new job

  • You have taken on the extra responsibilities of carpooling kids to rehearsals, soccer practice, soccer games, after school activities

  • You are care taking your aging parents

  • The list goes on

We all need support from time to time, someone to lean on and help us not drop the ball of what’s important to us when life is getting in the way. Like our relationship with our animal family, that’s important!

How do YOU experience your “plop plop, fizz fizz” relief? Is it finally being able to breathe deeply again? Or how about having solidarity and support for what you and your animal pal are going through? Is it time to feel the relief of not having to figure out everything on your own?

One of the common themes in the feedback I get from clients is how much better they feel after we have a session. Sometimes it’s as simple as “Wow, I feel so much better!” and other times it’s more detailed:

“I feel so grateful to all you’ve done to mold my relationship with my dogs. The insights into my dogs’ world have made a profound impact on me. I will never forget it, nor take it for granted.”

Is it past time for some relief in your life? Working together we can find comfort for you and your animal pals so that…

  • You have a helping hand in finding out what’s going on with your animal pals

  • You are now able to successfully move forward in helping your beloved animal pal in a proactive way

  • You are finally seeing the results you’ve been longing for
