How many of you are familiar with a bullet journal? A little over a year ago, a friend introduced me to the concept and I got hooked. I discovered that in keeping a bullet journal I:
have all of my ideas collected in one central location instead of written on the backs of scores of envelopes
was easily able to track multiple goals
found it easier to stay organized and on track
had a place to keep favorite quotes and sketches
Simply put, it is a place where my to-do list, my planner and my writings all meet up in one central location, giving me a full picture of my life as it is now, what I am creating for the future and what it has been in the past. Following my own personality and imagination, the bullet journal doesn't adhere to the traditional system, but what I have created works for me.
Bullet Journaling and Pets
At some point I realized it is also a great place to keep track of what's going on with my animal family, so cat Raven and dog Max now have their own pages in my bullet journal.
If you already have a bullet journal or are thinking of creating one, here are some ways you can use it to help keep track of what's going on with your animal pals.
Trainer's contact information
Pet friendly accommodations
Pet sitter contact information
Notes for pet sitter
In case of emergency information
Medical certifications (i.e. rabies shot)
Lock of fur
Growth & maintenance records
What you’ve learned from your pal
Your dog’s favorite parks
Important dates (i.e. gotcha day, birthday, date of death)
“Firsts” (i.e. first time your puppy had a day with no accidents in the house, first time your cat caught a mouse)
It's a good way to keep track when you have multiple people working on training
Feral cat care - a way to track the comings and goings of individual cats, as well as TNR
Everything is in one place should you be in an emergency and need to evacuate
Family notes - who does what, when they do it, and when it gets done
Once you get started, I'm sure you'll discover even more ways to use your bullet journal! Leave a comment, let me know how you use your bullet journal to care and keep track of what's going on in your animal pal's life.
